Kristi Kleine

 

After graduating from Young Dance Academy, Kristi went on to study at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance, Cum Laude.

In 2010, she joined the Sarasota Ballet of Florida, under the direction of Iain Webb.  She moved her way up from coryphee in 2013, soloist in 2014 and was recently promoted to First Soloist in 2016. Her featured roles include Ashton’s Enigma Variations (Isobel Fitton), A Wedding Bouquet (Webster), Jazz Calendar (Tuesday’s Child); Balanchine’s Stars and Stripes (Second Campaign), Apollo (Polyhymnia), Emeralds, Rubies, The Four Temperaments (Choleric); Bruce’s Sergeant Early’s Dream; de Mille’s Rodeo (Cowgirl); de Valois’ The Rake’s Progress (Mother); Graziano’s In a State of Weightlessness; MacMillan’s Concerto; Taylor’s Company B; Tuckett’s The Secret Garden (Mrs. Lennox); Tudor’s Gala Performance (Russian Ballerina); Wheeldon’s The AmericanHer repertoire includes lead and featured roles in Sir Frederick Ashton's Birthday Offering, George Balanchine's The Four Temperaments  and Rubies, Christopher Bruce's Sergeant Early's Dream, Agnes de Mille's  Rodeo, Paul Taylor's Company B, Twyla Tharp's In the Upper Room  and Nine Sinatra Songs and Antony Tudor's Lilac Garden and Gala Performance.  She also has performed with the Sarasota Ballet at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC as part of Ballet Across America and at City Center in New York City as part of the Fall for Dance Festival.
