Below is the rehearsal schedule for our first set of group staging rehearsals at YOUNG DANCE ACADEMY on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3RD and SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4TH.
PLEASE NOTE: These rehearsals listed below are IN COSTUME and will be held at YOUNG DANCE ACADEMY.

- 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. (Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear and The Toy Shoppe
- 6:15 – 7:15 p.m. My Favorite Things
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4th – IN COSTUME rehearsals at Young Dance Academy

- 12:15 – 1:15 p.m. Merry Christmas and Sock it to Me Santa (formerly Santa Claus is Coming to Town)
- 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Where Are You Christmas? and Lego House
- 2:45 – 3:45 p.m. Island of Misfit Toys and All I Want for Christmas
- 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Toyland and March of the Toys
- 5:15 – 6:15pm I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas
The rehearsal schedule for the following weekend (SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10TH AND SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11TH) will be available on MONDAY, DECEMBER 5TH once we determine the amount of rehearsal time required per dance after our first rehearsal weekend.
COSTUMING FOR OUR HOLIDAY SHOWCASE - All dancers should come to the above listed in-studio rehearsals dressed in their first costume. If your dancer is in more than one dance, their other costume(s) should be brought in a separate bag. Please be reminded that dancers and parents are supplying their own costuming by either purchasing new items or using items from home, with the exception of a few items that should be purchased through the studio. (See the “Holiday Showcase Music and Costuming” note). Most of these items will be available for purchase during our first weekend of rehearsals. Watch for an email after our first rehearsal weekend for any additional details on costume accessories.
Please label all of your items by writing names on clothing tags or if you purchased something new and may need to return it, write the dancer’s name on a piece of masking tape and attach to the clothing items. This is to avoid misplacing or mixing up any items. Remember to leave retail store tags on all pieces of purchased items and keep your receipts. Feel free to buy extra items which other parents / dancers can purchase from you if you do not plan to use a particular item.
Carrie Ann Poff and Nicole Patterson from our front desk staff will be at the studio on Saturday, December 3rd and Sunday, December 4th to assist with costuming. Costuming will occur during your scheduled in-studio dress rehearsal time listed on the top of this note. Parents of younger dancers are encouraged to stay and help with costumes during these rehearsals.
TICKETS - More information concerning ticket sales will be given after Thanksgiving vacation, beginning Monday, November 28th. Tickets will be sold first to YDA families who have dancers in the Holiday Showcase on MONDAY, DECEMBER 5th from 4:30 – 9:30 p.m. at Young Dance Academy. Again, tickets will be sold in the order in which performance fees were paid. All dancers pre-registered for the Holiday Showcase by Saturday, November 19th will be assigned a specific “ticket purchasing time” and will be emailed an alphabetical list of Holiday Showcase performers which will include your family’s assigned “ticket purchasing time”.
Tickets are $12.00 each (children 3 & younger are free if seated on the lap of a parent) and families are limited to purchase 12 ticket maximum only on Monday, December 5th. After everyone is able to purchase their 12 ticket limit or less on Monday, December 5th any remaining tickets will go on sale at the studio during regular business hours beginning Tuesday, December 6th at 4:30 p.m. Tickets will then be available for all to purchase on a first come, first serve basis.
IMPORTANT!!! – DECEMBER TUITION MUST BE PAID IN FULL AS WELL AS ANY OUTSTANDING BALANCES BY MONDAY, DECEMBER 5TH BEFORE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 5TH.
Backstage Volunteers - Now is the time to VOLUNTEER to help backstage! Please consider helping at one of the shows. This includes teen dancers performing in the show as well as parent volunteers.
